Celtics Take 3-1 Series Lead
Heat Hopes Fade as Miami Struggles to Contain Boston's Offensive Onslaught
The Boston Celtics tightened their grip on the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday night, dominating the Miami Heat 102-88 in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. However, the victory was marred by a potential major loss: star center Kristaps Porzingis.
Porzingis, who has been a key contributor for the Celtics this season, suffered a non-contact calf injury in the second quarter and was forced to leave the game. He was ruled doubtful to return and, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, will undergo imaging tests to determine the extent of the injury.
The loss of Porzingis is a major blow to the Celtics, who have relied heavily on his size, athleticism, and shooting ability. The Latvian big man has been a key part of Boston's success this season, averaging 19.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Despite the setback, the Celtics were able to pull away from the Heat in Game 4 thanks to a balanced scoring attack. Jayson Tatum led the way with 24 points, while Jaylen Brown added 22 and Marcus Smart chipped in with 18.
The Heat, meanwhile, were led by Jimmy Butler's 23 points, but they struggled to keep pace with the Celtics' offensive firepower. Miami shot just 40.2% from the field and was outrebounded by Boston 46-34.
Game 5 of the series will be played in Miami on Wednesday night. The Heat will need to win to keep their season alive, while the Celtics will be looking to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference finals.
