Higgins testifies about tension between Maiden and Wilkinson

Former political staffer Brittany Higgins has told the ACT Supreme Court that high-profile journalists Samantha Maiden and Lisa Wilkinson were fighting one another over the story of her alleged rape in Parliament House.

Maiden, a News Corp journalist, won two Walkley awards for her reporting on the allegations, which were first published in February 2021.

The court heard that Maiden's reporting sparked a media frenzy that put Higgins under intense public scrutiny.

On Friday, the fourth day of Bruce Lehrmann's trial, the court heard that Maiden published details of the alleged assault on a government employee in a ministerial office on February 15, 2021.
