Amalia takes a tour of Princess Day preparations
The Princess of Orange visited the Ridderzaal in The Hague on Monday to see the preparations for Princess Day.
Next Tuesday, King Willem-Alexander will deliver the speech from the throne there, traditionally marking the start of a new parliamentary year. This year it will be the first time Princess Amalia, 19, is present at the event.
On Monday, she took a look at the preparations in the Ridderzaal, accompanied by her parents, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. She was also given a tour of the Royal Palace. On Princess Day, the royal family will make their traditional carriage ride from Noordeinde Palace to the Ridderzaal, where the King will read the speech from the throne. After that, the royal family will return to Noordeinde Palace where they will appear on the balcony. Princess Amalia is expected to give a speech to the nation next year, when she turns 20.
